Carlos and I visited the National Botanical Garden on a cloudy day, but most of the plants are housed inside immense temperature-controlled greenhouses so it ended up being a nice way to stay out of the cold and see some pretty plants. I was a little disappointed with all of the cultivars on display (rather than true plant species), but the exhibits were really nice -- ranging from rain forest to desert habitats. My favorite portion of the Botanical Garden was the rain forest greenhouse complete with a canopy walkway through the crowns of the tallest trees!
