DC -- National Archives

After wandering around the city one day, Carlos and I found only a short line at the National Archives building so we decided to peek inside. After a short wait, we made our way directly to the rotunda where the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights are kept. The room itself was very dark and the original documents were kept in cool thick-glass cases and were illuminated with weird green lights (just like in the movie National Treasure!).

It was cool to be able to view the originals of these historic documents -- though they were (understandably) quite faded. There were a lot of people waiting to see the documents, but there was pretty good crowd control.

After looking at everything, we visited the gift shop then left to continue exploring DC.
